Join a community of Born Again Christians

To successfully navigate the challenges posed by the Devil and the world, it is crucial to have a supportive network of believers who can provide both encouragement and opportunities for learning from their own experiences. This is particularly important for those who have undergone the spiritual transformation being born again, as described in 1 Peter 5:8.

In Matthew 13:19-23, Jesus explains the parable of the sower and highlights the significance of truly understanding the word of God. Without a deep comprehension, the word can be easily snatched away by the Devil. Superficial understanding can result in losing the word when faced with troubles, persecution, or when consumed by the worries of life, the pursuit of wealth, and its deceitfulness. Conversely, Jesus emphasizes that a desired outcome of receiving the word is fruitful growth.

In order to select a Christian community, it is essential to consider several factors. one crucial criterion is their doctrine. one must ensure that their beliefs and doctrines align with righteousness, the supreme authority of the word of God, the divinity of the Lord Jesus Christ, the effectiveness of prayer, the ministry of the Holy Spirit in empowering of believers for life and evangelism.

It is important to be cautious, as there are numerous counterfeit Christian organizations that are sponsored by the devil. Therefore, those who are newly born again Christians must exercise care to avoid being deceived, as highlighted in 2 Corinthians 11:14 and 1 John 4:1.

Ephesians 4:14 instructs that as we grow in our faith in Christ, we will become steadfast and not easily swayed by false teachings or deceitful tactics employed by deceitful individuals.

Get Baptised

Baptism is a Greek word which, in the English Language, means to immerse. It could be an immersion in water or in the Holy Spirit. Its significance is to mark an entry into the Kingdom of Christ and into a higher level of consecration respectively.

Water Immersion Baptism

Baptism is a symbolic act of being immersed in water, representing burial with Christ, and rising from the water, symbolizing resurrection with Him (Romans 6:3-7). This practice denies the use of water sprinkling instead of full immersion, which some Christian sects employ.

It serves as a public declaration of one’s newfound life. In Matthew 28:19, Jesus instructed His disciples to make disciples from all nations by baptizing those who accepted the new life in Christ.

Both the words of Jesus in this scripture and Peter’s words in Acts 2:38 imply that baptism should be a conscious decision and a symbol of forgiveness of sins. Therefore, it can be concluded that infant baptism lacks biblical support.

Holy Spirit Baptism

The mentioned water baptism is a physical act, while the spiritual experience discussed here is distinct.

It involves the Holy Spirit descending upon and filling the believer, serving to mark them (Ephesians 1:13, Romans 8:9) and consecrate them to a deeper relationship with God.

Additionally, it empowers them to fulfill God’s purpose (Acts 1:8). This experience was prophesied in Joel 2:28, affirmed by Jesus in John 7:39 and Acts 1:5.

The initial occurrence took place on the day of Pentecost when the disciples gathered in an upper room in Jerusalem (Acts 2:1-4). Peter further explained in Acts 2:33, 38-39 that this was the fulfillment of God’s promised gift as stated in Joel 2, available to all who accept Christ.

Notably, this experience is often accompanied by speaking in tongues, inspired by the Holy Spirit, as seen in Acts 2:4, Acts 10:46, and Acts 19:6.

In order to receive the Baptism, the following requirements must be met: (1) One must experience spiritual rebirth, (2) One must have a strong desire for the gift, as described in John 7:37-39, (3) One must ask the father, as stated in Luke 11:13, (4) One must speak as prompted by an internal urging or inspiration, as seen in Acts 2:4, (5) Another way to receive the Baptism is through the laying on of hands by a believer who is filled with the Holy Spirit.

Now born again in Christ

Renew your mind

Transformation of the human spirit through being born again is essential, but it is equally important for the mind to also undergo a transformative process in order for an individual’s lifestyle to align with that of Christ. Therefore, Apostle Paul, in Romans 12:2, urges believers not to conform to the worldly lifestyle and standards, but rather to undergo a transformation by renewing their mind.

In the book of James 1:21-22, the Apostle emphasizes that when the word of God is implanted in the mind, it possesses the power to save and transform it. He further emphasizes that mere hearing of the word is not enough; it should be followed by action.

Thus, when an individual who possesses a flawed character or lifestyle experiences being born again, immersing oneself abundantly in the word of God becomes the catalyst for transformation. The cleansing power of the word of God is highlighted in the following scriptures: John 15:3 and Ephesians 5:26.

Develop a daily growth routine

The quote by Charles Noble, Our habits shape us after we shape them, holds great significance for followers of Christ as it determines the level of triumph in their faith practice and profession. Essential habits include a daily quiet time involving Bible study, prayer, and meditation.

Additionally, engaging in fellowship with other believers through group Bible study, prayer, fasting, and evangelism fosters spiritual growth among both seasoned and newly born-again believers, enabling the exchange of knowledge.

It is advisable to incorporate a routine that includes allocating specific time for Bible study, reading spiritual literature, and other growth-oriented activities. The duration of invested time may vary based on individual needs or the guidance of the Holy Spirit. For example, dedicating 15 minutes, 1 hour, or 3 hours before or after sleep on a daily basis, while also reserving weekends for these pursuits.

Hebrews 5:12 implies that as we grow spiritually, we should progress from being spiritual infants to becoming teachers, as Ephesians 4:14 affirms. To acquire the ability to teach the Bible, one must diligently study it and allow the Holy Spirit to illuminate its words, thus empowering the born-again believer for practical application and sharing with others, as stated in 2 Timothy 2:15.

Consequently, as we mature in our spiritual journey, God strategically positions us in roles to contribute to the expansion of His kingdom.

Grow in the knowledge of Christ

The likeness of Christ must be pursued by all those who believe. Our duty is to continually enhance our understanding of Christ, as declared in 2 Peter 3:18, and progress until we reach the full measure of Christ, as mentioned in Ephesians 4:13.

Throughout our earthly existence, we will gradually mature until His return, at which point we will encounter Him and undergo a transformation to become like Him, as stated in 1 John 3:2.

The knowledge of Christ is imparted to believers by the Holy Spirit, who is our eternal teacher, as mentioned in John 14:26 and 1 John 2:27. The Holy Spirit permanently dwells within believers, as stated in John 14:16-17.

Nurture your spiritual senses

When believers learn to commune with the Holy Spirit, comprehend His messages, and follow His guidance, their spiritual senses are nurtured and sharpened. This process, as stated in Romans 8:14, results in the tuning of these senses towards greater accuracy, as mentioned in Hebrews 5:14.

The Holy Spirit has the ability to activate various spiritual senses within individuals who are born again. Acts 27:10 highlights the inner witness, Romans 8:16 emphasizes discernment, Philippians 1:9-10 and 1 Corinthians 2:14 discuss the potential of being troubled in one’s spirit, whereas Philippians 4:7 illustrates the tangible peace that can be felt from within.

Furthermore, the Holy Spirit can impose restrictions, as seen in Acts 16:6-10, or withhold utterances, as stated in Ephesians 6:19 and 2 Corinthians 12:4.

The accurate operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, as mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12:4, which are given for the benefit of born again believers as per 1 Corinthians 12:7, is dependent on the development of these spiritual senses through fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

Seek to expand the Kingdom

Our mandate as a kingdom is to disciple all nations according to Matthew 28:19, until the world becomes the realm of God and His Son as stated in Revelation 11:15.

The kingdom of God can be compared to a body consisting of various parts, each with different functions. Likewise, believers are akin to these distinct functional parts, each assigned specific roles, as highlighted in 1 Corinthians 12:12.

Hence, all born again believers must strive to comprehend their divinely appointed roles in God’s agenda for expanding His kingdom.

In order to lead a victorious and successful Christian life, a newly born again Christian must be intentional in choosing their associations and daily routines. By surrounding themselves with like-minded individuals who share their faith and values, they can receive support, encouragement, and accountability on their spiritual journey.

Additionally, being mindful of their daily routines and prioritizing activities that align with their Christian beliefs will help them live a life that glorifies God. It is important to remember that our associations and daily choices have a significant impact on our spiritual growth.

Therefore, I encourage you to share this write-up with your friends, so they too can be inspired to make intentional choices that will lead them towards a victorious and successful Christian life.
